Whitewater Avalanche Conditions Preseason Report
As we all get excited with the anticipation of a great winter, as the body aches to once again get that feeling of freedom that is inspired by each turn on the wooden plank or planks, it is easy to forget that avalanche risks already exist. With the significant amount of snow falling in the past few weeks the team at Whitewater Ski Resort and BackcountrySkiingCanada.com thought it would be helpful to share how our snowpack is being developed. In this weeks video Whitewater Ski Resorts Snow Safety Supervisor Wren McElroy talks about the 105cms recieved in the last week and early season conditions. It is never too early to get out and practice your companion rescue skills, finding transceivers, shovelling and group management. Nobody ever sufferred from being over prepared.
Note that Whitewater Ski Resort's tentative opening day is scheduled for Saturday, December 5.
