What Just Happened?

It?? time to put away your holiday PSK (personal survival kit) and enjoy the fresh, new beginnings of 2013. The holidays always pass by as an eternal instant of chaos. So here are just a few of the highlights of our holiday season at Whitewater, just in case you were too blurry eyed from too many festivities or a serious lack of sleep. Hopefully you were at the hill on December 23, 2012 to catch Santa shred the gnar and spread Christmas cheer to all of our amazing guests. You would be even luckier if you were one of the few who got to catch Santa?? sweet moves on the Blast from the Summit Chair. Don't fret if you weren?? able to witness this holiday miracle, one of his elves caught it on video and here are a few of the clips; >Santa's Cartwheel>Santa's Day Off>Santa having a BlastNot to be overshadowed by the turkey hangover and the build ?? up to New Year celebrations, here at Whitewater we celebrated World Snowboard Day on December 30, 2012. The day was filled with tall tees, snowy bums and a highest Ollie contest hosted in our terrain park. A big congratulations goes out to Riley Turner who proved his skills worthy enough to win our first ever highest Ollie contest at Whitewater. For pictures of all the fun and action, check out our recent photos page . Whitewater would like to extend their love and gratitude to all our shredders young and old by honoring them every year on December 30th. See you next year!By next year I mean 2014, as we all survived the apocalyptic year of 2012 and successfully rang in 2013 last week. The New Year is always full of such optimism as people make resolutions and finally get a moment to organize their lives after the holidays. It is a time to take a breath and relax. Rick Shersty and John Cooley took time on New Year?? day to bask in the natural beauty of Whitewater by capturing these photos of the elusive sun dog. Sundog by Rick Shersty What is a sun dog you might ask? Well it?? not your dog on any particular sunny day outside but a patch of light that is seen either to the left or right of the sun caused by the refraction of light off the ice crystals in the air. Now if that isn?? a sign of good things to come this year then I don?? know what is.
