Tribute Throwdown
Last Sunday's Tribute Throwdown Slopestyle event was a success for all involved. Conditions were optimal for doing just that: throwing down, with a light dusting of snow and some scattered clouds. Raditude index was an 8. The venue itself was top notch- possibly the best set of home-made features Whitewater has ever seen.
Local skiers and boarders mingled with those from more exotic haunts such as Scotland, Australia and Ymir. Rails, tabletops and spines were all dispatched in fine form. After all the awards and prizes were handed out the crowds converged at the top of the summit chair for Whitewater's first ALPINE BEER GARDEN! That's not a typo. Be prepared for more of these frosty (and lofty) stops to be scattered throughout the resort in the coming weeks. There will be so many beer gardens that riders will have trouble not running into one- sort of a positive feedback loop. For example, if you get thirsty after a run down from the "Upper Summit chair beer garden" another will await you at the bottom, also conveniently suited for parents based at the Hummer handle tow. To top it off, the throwdown venue will be alive and well and calling your name.
Although spring arrived three months ago it just recently became official, which means it's time for fun events up at Whitewater. See you up there!
