The November Update
November, the dreaded in between month, where it’s not quite fall and it’s not quite winter. You can only wax your sliding device so many times, you’ve watched every snow movie in your collection, and you’re basically addicted to the refresh button on the webcam. November is hard for all of us. Good news, the end, or rather the beginning is in sight! We are set to open for the season December 9th, 2016, so get STOKED.
The weather man is optimistic on a snowy snow filled winter for the first time in a while. ‘La Niña’ is on the way! If you haven't fine-tuned your snow-nerd lingo, ‘La Niña’ is a weather pattern characterized by unusually cold ocean temperatures in the Pacific Ocean, this results in cooler than normal temperatures in the Northwest of the continent. In layman’s terms, there’s basically a big blob floating over us on the weather models that are predicting our seasons weather, which will see ULLR deliver us an abundance of the big dry fluffy flakes that we all dream about!
Since you’ve maxed out your snow movies, you’re probably looking for something to ignite the fire. Teton Gravity Research is premiering their 21st Anniversary film Tight Loose November 30th at the Civic Theatre. Bringing it home with a local Whitewater section in the film, we are excited to welcome them back to Nelson. Something even more exciting is we’re giving away a seat on FIRST CHAIR on opening day at the premiere. How do you win this super awesome opportunity? Stop by our office (602 Lake St) to grab yourself and a buddy at ticket ($15 CASH ONLY), pick up your season pass and snag a raffle ticket. Viola, you are entered! If you’ve already picked up your pass, bring it in and we will give you a raffle ticket. BONUS, if you’re sitting in the audience at the Tight Loose Premiere (which you should be), you’ll win a brand new pair of TGR special edition Dragon goggles. This and more at the premiere of Tight Loose November 30!
