The Kids on Tour
It has been one of the best starts to a ski season in recent memory. But not only did we receive snowfall everyday in December, we also emerged into the New Year with one of the most stable snowpacks in a very long time. It's rare we make it to this time of year without a buried tiger of sorts--a layer that keeps the eyes in the back of your head darting with worry. Perfect time then to take the teens into the backcountry. With so many epic lines staring them in the kisser every day, it felt great last week to tick off a Skob's Knob with three local 14 year olds. It is, in fact, the only time they don't complain about doing work, and of course, one of the few moment in life where they actually listen to us, their dad's. Climbing 1,500 feet through deep snow? No problem. Cleaning up their rooms? Impossible. If only fresh pow could be a parent....
