The Countdown is On...

Just yesterday the mountain tops peaked out of the clouds to let us know that winter is just around the corner. This fresh dusting of snow has begun the transformation of the mountain community of Nelson from summer to winter. Bikes start getting put in to the storage as skis and boards get taken out. Local shops window displays turn from toys made for water to those made for snow. Dinner party conversations are now about ski gear instead of camping and you find yourself clicking on the Whitewater webcam to see what snow is collecting at higher elevations (if you are in this webcam clicking club, we are working on getting it back up and running as soon as possible, hopefully no later than October 1!).The countdown officially begins. First countdown? 5 days until the end of the Whitewater Early Bird Season Pass Sale. Second countdown? Opening day for the 2013/2014 winter season (click HERE for dates).
