We are buzzing with excitement here at Whitewater with less than 3 weeks until our projected opening date! We are planning to open for the weekend on November 27th if Ullr continues to bring us the fluffy white stuff.Hopefully you made it out to the Whitewater Ski Team's ski swap this past weekend and got your gear for the season as it is fast approaching. We were there taking registrations for our Snow School programs including the Whitewater Freeride Team. If you are interested in being part of the Freeride Team be sure to get in touch with us soon, as space is limited and we have been receiving a lot of inquiries. For all the young snowboarders out there stay tuned for info on a new snowboard program coming soon. We also want to remind you that the 2nd annual Avalanche Awareness Beyond the Boundaries Society (AABBS) gear swap is coming up on Sunday November 21st at the Gravity Adventure Climbing Gym located at 513 Victoria Street. This is a swap for all gear ~ hiking, biking, back country, kayak, canoes etc. The best part about your purchase is 20% of the proceeds will go to the AABBSAABBS, is a non for profit society founded in the spring of 2009 by a group of Nelson ski industry and business professionals concerned about the increase in the number of teens venturing out into the back country without any avalanche and mountain safety training. Thanks to the generosity of the many donors that have supported the effort, the society provided free Canadian Avalanche Association approved Avalanche Skills Training courses to 30 Nelson and area youth between the ages of 13-18 this past ski season.
