Team Freeride
There's nothing more exciting as a parent than watching your kid fall completely head over heels in love with skiing. My oldest son always had the fire, there's no doubt. But there was always the odd day where he didn't feel like buckling on the boots and trekking up to the hill. Whether it was cold or he was tired, or his friends were planning on doing some else, the fire wasn't burning white hot. Not like it is this year. Which I'll attribute mainly to the new Freeride Team at Whitewater. I'm away right now which is never easy. Especially when it's been epic at home. But to get emails like the one I got below is enough to keep the fire burning inside of me, even though I'm a continent away. Thanks to Dano, Pete and the Whitewater Ski School for making the Freeride Team happen. It fits with the culture of our local kids in a big way. They're learning to ski in ways that jive with what our home hill is all about. And more than anything, they're not only stoking the fire, but putting lots of wood on it. Hey Dad, hows a goin. Todays free ride camp was so awseome! We all got sick free ride shirts. we also went and skied pipeline chute! Witch is the first real chute I have ever skied in my life! It was so fun. It was also super nice and sunny. Snowed 7 and shredding POW!! Wish you you were here, Stryder.
