Spring is in the air...
That's it, that's all. April comes around and before you know it, the season has finished. For some in town, a long winter of grey, dull weather in Nelson over. For us a bittersweet time as we reflect on the past four months spent in the mountains. Time spent with old friends and new, skiing, boarding and sharing experiences as part of this great winter community.
March came and went this year with a bang. Winter stayed around, in a big way. While the last week provided us with the perfect end to the season with sunshine and warm spring skiing, lets not forget the epic pow that graced us in the weeks before.
With March comes the longer days and hence the opportunity for us staff to get out after work. Catch the King up at 4pm, and alpine sunsets are waiting for you from as high as you can get. There is something special about getting up above the resort and then skiing down into Ymir Bowl in the last glow of the evening.
So, for the winter family that slowly disperses into the far reaches of the world this summer, thanks for a truly awesome season. I know I can't wait to find my way back here when the snow starts to fly next December - see you all then!
Special mention to the Season Pass Holder with the most days, Tim McDaniel who everyday hikes 300 steps up lower Sluice Box to warm up. You're an inspiration to all staff here Tim!
