Safety First!
Clear blue skies, boot top cold powder and great company make for a fantastic day of learning about the Whitewater backcountry. A mother and daughter team came to Whitewater to explore and had a stellar time with Avalanche Forecaster Wren McElroy.
""We had an incredible day in the backcountry at whitewater. Wren is the ultimate local guide... knowledgeable, safe, and fun... so many beautiful untracked spots to tour. The terrain is amazing and accessible. We just got a taste ... and will be back for more soon. Thanks Wren!" - Dar and Claire, Backcountry 101 Participants
The Backcountry 101 is geared towards an educational experience catered to each groups individual experience and needs. The focus is on how to travel, whether a first timer or experienced back country enthusiast, how to read and identify avalanche terrain and companion rescue skills.
