Rockstar Raffle 2018
Rockstar Parking was awarded to one lucky license plate over the Holidays. The Rockstar Raffle has been running for a number of years with intention of fundraising for the Whitewater Ski Team and Avalanche Awareness Beyond the Boundaries (A.A.B.B.S), a nonprofit youth avalanche education program. This past fundraising opportunity was able to raise over $6000 towards these not for profit organizations. This is up 10% from last season. This money is a key part in being able to continue to fund and support these two programs. Plus, who doesn't want to win front row parking all season long?
The Rockstar Raffle was originally developed to help fundraise for the Whitewater Ski Team, a long running non profit organization “dedicated to building life long skiers in a positive, fun and supportive learning environment. It is our goal to instill passion in young skiers, develop excellent skiing skills in all terrain and conditions, as well as building self confidence, respect for the mountains, and respect for their peers.”
The A.A.B.B.S. program has educated countless local youth in the importance of safe backcountry travel by developing an Avalanche Skills Training course for ages 12 to 18 years. Whitewater Ski Resort is a proud affiliate with the program and has even been approached by other organizations to bring this sort of training to other youth across British Columbia.
In addition to supporting these youth programs, Whitewater also offer a Transceiver Training Park located in the meadow by lot 5 in the base area. This park is open for everyone to practice their transceiver skills. This is a by donation service and all proceeds go to A.A.B.B.S.
Whitewater is both proud and fortunate to be in partner with both of these incredible youth programs.
