Whitewater?? first ever Community Day was a massive success, raising $5540 for both Avalanche Awareness Beyond the Boundaries Society (AABBS) and Nelson Cares Society. In addition to the cheques, Whitewater was also able to deliver a large amount of non perishable food items to the Nelson Food Cupboard. All in all, Community Day couldn?? have been more successful.We hope you take the time to have a well rested week, because come Friday, Whitewater will be entering a weekend of excitement. Friday kicks off our 40th Anniversary Celebrations! Where we will be bringing back a special fortieth version of Master Blaster! There will also be an ??Old School Ski Moves??competition in the terrain park, LIVE Music by DirtFloor, a special showing of 40 Years Young, and we will be announcing the winner of our Dear Whitewater Instagram Contest. The celebrating doesn?? stop there; Mike?? Place Pub and Nelson Brewing Company will be putting on a FREE Vinyl Ritchie show at the Get Bent Pole (After) Party! Prizes for Most Bent Pole and Best Duct Taped Outerwear!Friday is just the warm up; Saturday Whitewater will be hosting the 7th Annual Winter Carnival and Snowball Apr?s. As tradition serves, there will be marshmallow roasting, snow sculpting, a kids scavenger hunt, LIVE Music by LINT, and an incredible buffet dinner created by the talent behind the line at the Fresh Tracks Cafe! After a good sleep, Sunday brings the ever so popular Gerick?? Summit Cup, an elimination dual slalom and Avalanche Awareness Days. Exie, our Avy Dog will be showing off her skills with the Whitewater Patrol Team in an Avalanche Rescue Demonstration. Avalanche Awareness Days continues in the BCA Transceiver Training Park with backcountryskiingcanada.com hosting the Transceiver Olympics. Thus, concluding an epic weekend both on mountain and off mountain.
