Reflections of Epicness

It's seems to happen around the same time every year. The peak of summer. The sun has finally arrived and the foot tan (the true measure of summer recreation success) has taken up near permanent residence. It's a relative peak, the height of easy outdoor living. The lake is finally swimable (at 65degrees), tans are turning into deep tans, and anything save sitting on the beach or a boat or on the balcony becomes almost impossible. Maybe it's these lazy days of summer that enable the mind to wander into the season after next. I try to refrain from postulating on the upcoming winter. No, that's wrong, and somehow related to bad karma. Instead, to think about next winter I let my mind fall back into last winter. At least that's known. And with the highest "height of snow" (according to ministry officials) in the West Kootenay region for the last 30 years, it's a fairly safe bet. There were a zillion good memories to recall. Last winter was mega mega. And the new Glory Chair arrived just in time. Did it snow every day for the month of March? My memory says it did. Sure, it's odd that I'm not wholly enjoying the blazing sun for its brief visit to town, but like all things (including copious amounts of snow), it won't be around forever. So no need to get all attached to it and instead start to slowly prepare for what lays around the corner. Mentally anyway. Funny, that on a super hot day, thinking about being totally immersed in the Kootenay Kind leaves you feeling that much warmer.
