Pillow Talk Vol. 3

Where would you go if you were visiting Western Canada for the first time? The Powder Highway, of course. Hailing from Toronto, Vanessa and Ian flew to Calgary for a ten day tour through interior BC, including three days in Nelson. While Ian explored the resort and the backcountry, Vanessa upped her skills with a lift ticket/rental/lesson package. I caught up with the newly engaged couple to get their thoughts on making the most of Nelson and Whitewater.

  • First Name(s)? Ian and Vanessa
  • Where are you visiting from? Toronto
  • First timer to WH2O or long-term relationship? First time for Vanessa, and a second date for Ian, after visiting for some amazing ski touring last season
  • What’s your foreplay routine before diving into some sweet wintry face shots? A tall dark Americano at Oso Negro hits the spot!
  • Does size really matter on the slopes? Only if you measure vertical descent, and cm’s of fresh snow
  • Any afternoon delight highlights? Vanessa took an afternoon lesson with ski instructor John, and learned some new tricks!
  • Apres-ski at the lodge or in town? Why? In town at Marzano for the après-ski craft beer and pizza combo. Deelish!
  • What’s the climax of your WH2O experience? We each had our own moments, and felt no shame!
  • The perfect ending to a day at WH2O is… meeting up with your friends who were stuck at work all day
  • If you weren’t monogamous with Whitewater, where else would you be skiing or riding? Les Cantons de L’est (Eastern Townships of QC)
  • Happy endings? Most definitely!
