Pillow Talk Vol. 2

Pillow Talk asks Whitewater guests for their take on getting down when they're up on the hill.

Keen to get away from the crowds in the Rockies, Julia headed west to enjoy the unique WH2O experience. If there's one thing that stood out for her on the slopes, it's the tree skiing. Finding untouched powder in the evergreens on the Glory side is oh so sweet. Even if she's still "spreading her wings across Western Canada" with her other ski passes, it's a safe bet there's a blossoming relationship between her and Whitewater.

  • First Name(s)? Julia
  • Where are you visiting from? Canmore
  • What's your relationship status with WH2O? It's very early on. I'd say I'm in the courting stage.
  • No one likes soggy boots. Do you prefer knocking your boots before or after a day on the hill? Both, you don’t want to paint yourself into a corner.
  • What’s your foreplay routine before diving into some sweet wintry face shots? Definitely my first thing is coffee, and maybe a shot of fireball before the first chair to warm the soul and the body. If I can find service, I'll try to check my email on the first chair.
  • Does size really matter on the slopes? Size definitely matters. I like pumping the moguls and the fluff.
  • If Whitewater were a lover, how would you describe its touch? Ohhhh....it's a secretive lover...it's easy to get lost in the trees and find some hidden gems out there.
  • Apres-ski at the lodge or in town? It's gotta be in town, on the back couch at Backroads Brewing.
  • What’s the climax of your WH2O experience? I had a semi-climax while eating the Ymir Bowl at lunch, even though I thought it was pronounced “Ye mere” [pro tip: it's "why-mer"]
  • The perfect happy ending to a day at WH2O is…I dream of winter camping or finding a cozy shack in the woods. Otherwise, hanging out in Nelson is pretty sweet too.
  • If you weren’t monogamous with Whitewater, where else would you be skiing or riding? My home ski hill is Lake Louise, but I'm dabbling in other hills with a Mountain Collective and RCR card.

Stay tuned; we’ll be back with more tales of rolling in the snow soon.
