How exactly did Nelson BC and neighbouring Rossland beat out every other ski town in North America to be named winner of Powder Magazine's Best Ski Town in North America? Bottom line, the powder is crazy deep out here, and as Powder editor John Stifter put it, "the Kootenays is a special place" full of "very interesting, authentic folk".
