It's just different, is all.
I just returned from a trip to Colorado and something struck me as I walked around the parquet sidewalks of the resorts out there, window shopping before heading out for another high-speed-quad-accessed lap. Whitewater isn?? like other resorts.
While in Colorado, I felt slightly under siege the whole time. From people, noise, neon, out of control snowboarders, the number of monolithic hotels and condos crowding ones view. It?? all just a bit much. And don't get me started about the traffic.
Nobody said Whitewater was perfect. Who?? want it to be? It just feels like home. Even total strangers look familiar. There are no massive sponsor logos, only occasional music, and a wonderful lack of real estate (for now). The quality of skiers and riders is high and things are just generally chill.
I enjoyed my time at the Colorado Resorts, skiing the dust on crust of the day. Thing is, I?? happy to be home and stoked to hit the hill on the weekend. A little arm?? length perspective always makes it clear to me that we have something special, something unlike most resorts. Giddy up.
