Hoping Spring's Eternal
Ok. So this season has been a bit of a rollercoaster conditions-wise. Slow-but-sure, we are all coming to terms with the fact that the overall dumpage may not be as "plentiful" as years past. Truth is, there's still hope. Yes, people are already out mountain biking and paddling but, c'mon, it's only just March.
Have you forgotten what March can bring? Do you remember how many times we've all wished Whitewater would stay open as we get hammered with storm after storm, late March and into April? I'm not saying we are "owed" anything. Mother Nature does not work her wondrous ways that way. Chances, though, are still very good that we'll get a few deep pow days out of this season.
In the meantime, the conditions have encouraged us to focus on things other than faceshots. At the Coldsmoke Powder Fest just past, folks were having a lot of fun because they had the right attitude--they know it's about more than just snow. Remember that enjoying the sun, going fast, goofing around, and being physical in a beautiful outdoor setting is waaay better than most activities. And, don't forget, a lot can happen over a month. It's also snowing as I write.
