Conditions Slowly Improving
Last week we got hit with a storm from the south that brought warm temperatures and a lot of precipitation. This caused a 24h hour period of high avalanche hazard as there were natural avalanches occurring almost everywhere. Following the storm, the temps dropped to minus 14 and created a thick crust on all aspects and elevations in the area. This crust has dropped the avalanche hazard to low for the time being. As more snow falls in the next couple days, this crust will act as the perfect bed surface for new avalanches.
