Come Get Your Vitamin D
Down in town, we can go for a while without seeing the sun. Overcast skies and chilled air doesn't seem to affect the mood of town; people bustle about, same as usual, greeting friends in coffee shops and smiling at those they pass. That's the great thing about being in Nelson. But imagine if our world here was even just a tiny bit, well, brighter.
It is.
Not far from town lives your local ski hill, ready to cover you and your skis in sunshine. Ymir stands crisp against clear skies and Whitewater's snow reflects the golden beams from above, illumitating your way from Glory Chair to Silver King as the sun moves across the sky. The deck is open. The air is fresh. And the people are just as friendly, but with smiles that seem just a touch bigger.
It's all that vitamn D they're getting. And you can grab it anytime you like.
Whenever there's an inversion settled in the region and the conditions in town leave you pining for the sun, look up. Up the road to Whitewater, up in the higher elevations, up above the clouds. There's sun to be shared and had by all ?? and even an hour and a few laps in is enough to get your mind invigorated and senses clear. (Good way to pitch a mid-day ski break to your boss.)
On the days you can't break away, get a visual dose of sun from the webcams. Just don't let your boss see it open if you happen to suddenly come down "sick" and ask to leave work early. ;)
