Coldsmoke 2013 delivered as promised (we told you so!)
The relatively long lived dry spell finally got busted wide open with a total of 45cm falling over the course of the three day event. 9cm fell on Friday to start things off, followed by a dump of 33 cm over the day on Saturday and a nice topper of 6 cm on Sunday. This was shy of the 65cm that fell last year but still a solid delivery of the goods for those who attended.
As is customary the event must come to a close but the powder just keeps on coming. All indications from our top secret weather sources say that the 11cm that was fresh this AM for any Coldsmoking stragglers is just the beginning. Precipitation is in the forecast for the next 5 days and it looks like our undelivered snow from the first half of the month will be dished out in overflowing helpings in the remaining 4 days of February.The ROAM Rando Rally Race was a big hit with competitors and spectators alike and the new snow added a twist for organizers and competitors alike. 
The Valhalla Pure Powder Keg Slope style event also benefited from the fresh Pow as competitors knew the landings would be fluffy soft so they were hitting things large.
