Avalanche Conditions Report 2017 - #2
Join Whitewater's Avalanche Forecaster Wren McElroy for another Avalanche Conditions Report 2017. Some exposed alpine features have been hit hard by the wind recently and are variable with possible pockets of windslab.
Areas that have not been affected by the wind are in great shape and skiing well. In the steeper features, watch for loose snow avalanches and slough management. The next significant weather system is coming in for Monday with moderating temperatures.
We will be watching how the new snow loads the cold upper snowpack. We are also still keeping an eye on the November 26 th rain crust and will be watching to see if that becomes a reactive layer. The Glory Chair opens on Saturday opening up our lift accessible terrain.
We are running our first Avalanche Skills Training course this weekend. The course filled up quickly, for the next available AST dates visit Avalanche Education. Santa will also be on the mountain this weekend!
