It could be the two-seater Silver King chairlift that gives solo skiers the chance to meet someone new on each go ‘round. Or maybe it’s just that everyone’s having so much damn fun it rubs off on everyone else.
Whatever the cause, the friendly and welcoming vibe at Whitewater is hard to ignore.
I don’t know if old Maslow had skiing in mind when he created his hierarchy of needs, but the feeling of fitting in at Whitewater surely illustrates the pyramid’s middle tier of love and belonging. Satisfying this need is one big step towards realizing your dreams of becoming the finest skier or boarder you can be. Whitewater makes it easy to share your passions (well, the wintery kind anyways).
With just three lifts accessing a ton of terrain, it’s hard to get lost on the mountain. True, there’s no cell service, but that just means you’ve got to keep your buddies nearby (an important safety measure too). And indulging in tasty food and drink at the lodge gives you a chance to warm up together.
Spending quality time in the outdoors with friends or family is surely one of the best ways to deepen your relationships. I’m pretty sure no one ever said “I’d rather be at the office or vacuuming the house” on a powder day. Sharing laps with good friends is a no brainer.
But what about those solo lovers out there?
Whitewater’s got you covered too. If you can’t get your fix shouting “Single!” on the Silver King lift, mark February 11 on your calendar. Forget about online dating - “Skied Dating” is where it’s at. If you happen to find a match, you might even score some sweet prizes, among other benefits.
The friendly vibe continues on February 12 for BC Family Day, with the resort offering half price admission for all BC residents.
