2016/2017 Season Passes Now Available!

It’s the first of June, which means summer solstice is just around the corner and the sunny season is kicking off! For many Whitewater fans, this transition is a sad time as it means the end to one of the best seasons in recent memory. This past epic winter is all thanks to El Niño, and if history repeats itself, we could be set for an even bigger season in 2016/2017. Some say that the best snow years happen after a wicked El Niño year... at least that’s what they say about the El Niño of 1997! The 97/98 season was legendary, with snowfall after snowfall bringing Whitewater over three metres of snow in January alone! Even more legendary was the season following. In 98/99 Whitewater was breaking all records with an epic five and a half metre base left at the end of March. Reports last fall by Climate Central forecasted strong similarities between the El Niños of 97/98 and 15/16, and we definitely saw this prediction come true! Here’s hoping that this upcoming winter season will see similarities to 98/99 for a winter set of breaking records one face shot at a time.
