This season marks 50 years of Whitewater, and we’re celebrating the only way we know how: together.
Join us at on Friday, April 3 in the Base Area from as we raise a slice of cake and and NBC taster to five decades of deep snow, legendary turns, unforgettable characters, and a community that has made Whitewater what it is today. Expect a few short speeches, some fun giveaways, and plenty of time to connect with friends old and new who have all been part of the story.
Whether you've been skiing here since the T-bar days or just discovered Whitewater this winter, this celebration is for you.
Golden Ticket Hunt Throughout the day
To celebrate 50 years of deep snow, good turns, and great people, a handful of Golden Tickets will be hidden around the mountain during the anniversary celebration. Keep your eyes open while you’re riding the lifts. If you happen to spot one, consider yourself very lucky! Bring your Golden Ticket to Guest Services to claim your prize.
A few lucky finders will walk away with prizes like:
• 1-night summer stays in the Hummingbird Lodge Suite
• Golden Fry Passes – 20 orders of fries next season
• Lunch for 2 at the Hummingbird Lodge
• $50 Resort Credit
• Whitewater swag bags
There are only a limited number of Golden Tickets hidden on the mountain, so keep your eyes peeled. One lucky discovery could turn an ordinary lap into a legendary one!
Frost-your-own Cake 10:00am - 1:00pm
What’s a birthday party without cake?
To celebrate 50 years, we’ll have a special frost-your-own birthday cake station where you can decorate your own slice before digging in.
Choose your frosting, add some toppings, and create your own masterpiece before enjoying a sweet bite of Whitewater history!
50th Anniversary Laps 11:00am - 1:00pm
Join us for a celebratory 50th Anniversary Lap up each chair at Whitewater!
Led by our longtime Mountain Hosts, this special lap is a chance to take a turn through the mountain’s history, share stories from seasons past, and celebrate five decades of skiing and riding together.
Whether you’ve been here since the early days or this is your first winter, everyone is welcome to be part of these laps.
Baker Street Blues 12:00pm - 3:00pm
Get ready to groove! Nelson’s own Baker Street Blues will be lighting up our 50th Anniversary Party!
This talented local band brings soulful energy and classic bluesy vibes that’ll keep the good times rolling long after your run is done.
Boasting killer instrumentals with Ryan Telegdy on guitar, a brutally unstoppable rhythm section with Tim Potter on drums, Phil Wilson-Birks laying down deep, groove-heavy bass lines, and lead singer and frontman Stelio Calagias who was born to entertain, whether you’re cooling down or just soaking up the sun, their tunes will be the perfect soundtrack to your day in the mountains.
A Toast to the Next 50 1:00pm - 1:30pm
We’re teaming up with our friends at Nelson Brewing Company to mark the moment with a special taster of Day Pass IPA, brewed just for Whitewater’s 50th Anniversary. Crisp, celebratory, and best enjoyed slopeside with your crew.
Join a handful of familiar Whitewater faces and longtime members of our community as they share a few words, stories, and memories that have shaped this place and continue to make it what it is.
From powder days to patio hangs, we’re raising a glass to everything that’s brought us here and everything still to come.
