Formerly of the multi Juno-nominated vocal quartet “Cadence”, David Lane is a jazz keyboardist, singer, and a dynamic and engaging performer with over 10 years of international touring experience and 500+ educational workshops under his belt.

He currently sings with the New York City based group “Duwende”, has appeared on America’s Got Talent, toured with Grammy award winning-artists, and opened for Jay Leno. As a solo artist, David uses his RC 505 Loopstation to combine jazzy keyboard harmony with vocal experimentations and beatboxing, creating full song arrangements and improvised soundscapes on the fly.

Sapphire Guthrie is a Nelson-based singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. Her performances are an intimate invitation for audiences to lose themselves in the warmth of her voice - light and vulnerable at times, yet commanding and soulful at others.

Her poetic songs, written in English and Spanish, explore the wonders of the natural world and the intricacies of the human experience, while honouring the timeless spirit of folk music legends with heartbreaking authenticity.

David Oosthuizen (Oostie) and Kelly-Rae Shuttleworth are a Kootenay duo who bring a fun and unique blend of “Cosmic Country”, sultry blues, folk, and rock to enchant and amuse any audience.

Enjoy as these artists convey the dynamic of love and loss through the chemistry of their interplay punctuated with humorous stories and banter.

Tenise Marie is known for her luminous voice, enchanting lyrics, and melodies that transcend the expectations and confines of one single genre. Her songs bridge tradition and innovation, reflecting the confluence of her English, French & Assyrian roots.

Her new album Off The Record bridges east to west with an innovative collection of confessional songwriting infused with folk, soul, jazz, and West Asian inflections.

The Brian K Trio has been performing together for over 8 years, having formed a strong musical bond in the hay days of high-flying blue grass / swing / psychedelic rock sensations, The Devils You Don’t. 

Together their repertoire features many highlights from the American and Canadian songbooks (Bob Dylan, Tom Waits, Neil Young, The Band, and Hank Williams) and a few classics from over the pond (think Pink Floyd and The Pogues).

We can't wait to welcome The Brian K Trio up to Whitewater for the Raven Ridge Run!

Aaron Pasacreta is a Kootenay-based musician, singer-songwriter, and Selkirk College Music graduate. Influenced from a young age by his keyboardist father who packs a solid collection of classic rock CDs in the family’s music library, Pasacreta has grown into a multi-instrumentalist who plays with a range of peers and genres.

His folk-pop alternative sound blends traditional storytelling with modern influences, exploring themes of hope, love, growth, nature, home, and mental health. Inspired by artists like Mt. Joy, Hozier, The Lumineers, Chance Peña, and Noah Kahan, Aaron’s songs feel both intimate and expansive, rooted in place and honest emotion.

The Oostie & Mitch Lewis Trio delivers a high-energy blend of classic blues, folk, and rock, with just the right amount of humour woven in. It’s the kind of set that feels loose and fun, but backed by seriously strong musicianship.

Nelson’s own Oostie is teaming up with Toronto guitarist Mitch Lewis, whose resume includes stages around the world from intimate clubs to Carnegie Hall, and percussionist Steve Evangelatos, to bring a dynamic, well-traveled sound that keeps things tight, upbeat, and effortlessly enjoyable.

UCRA Mountain String Band is a dynamic trio from Rossland, BC, blending bluegrass, folk, and rock into their own distinctive sound. Their music features heartfelt melodies and engaging rhythms, with Ian Johnston delivering powerful guitar work and soulful vocals. Dale Green brings energy to the stand-up bass and adds rich vocal harmonies, while Brian Taylor contributes intricate mandolin and guitar parts, enhancing the band’s overall texture.

Their setlist ranges from reflective ballads to upbeat tracks that get audiences moving. Influenced by groups like Trampled by Turtles, The Decemberists, and The Avett Brothers, they combine traditional roots with a modern edge and focus on creating memorable experiences and connecting with their audience through authentic and lively performances.

Marty Carter is a seasoned multi-instrumentalist and vocalist whose musical journey spans over 35 years across western Canada. A core member of an art rock-reggae-blues fusion band, Marty brings a dynamic mix of saxophone, flute, 12-string guitar, and keys to the stage.

His performances, whether in pubs, clubs, or on festival stages, are rooted in heartfelt expression and spontaneity. Known for creating moments of joy through music, Marty shares his craft with warmth, generosity, and a deep love for connection through sound.

Barak Shulman first picked up a guitar in the mid-90s, jamming with his brother and best friend during the heyday of the Seattle sound — a scene that deeply shaped his musical taste from just across the border in Vancouver, BC. Inspired by that era’s raw energy, Barak went on to earn an online guitar certificate from Berklee College of Music, sharpening his craft.

He played his first gig on New Year’s Eve 2014 at The Wolf and Hound in Kitsilano, just months before packing up a U-Haul with his girlfriend (now wife), their cat, and their dreams, and heading east to Nelson, BC. Since then, Barak has played hundreds of shows throughout the region. His live sets are an acoustic journey through four decades of rock and soul; think Led Zeppelin, Tom Petty, The Verve, John Mayer, and more!

Holly and Jon, made up of Holly Hyatt and Jon Burden, are a powerhouse acoustic duo hailing from the Slocan Valley, bringing their signature blend of blues, roots, and heartfelt harmonies to the Hummingbird Lodge.

With three critically acclaimed albums under their belt, this dynamic pair has earned serious accolades. Holly is a Kootenay Music Award winner for Best R&B Song and an Indie Blues Award nominee. Together, they’ve shared the stage with the likes of Colin James, The Trews, Jeff Healey, Los Lobos, and even the legendary Leon Russell.
